Getting started
While IMDb may stand for the 'Internet Movie Database', to ensure we remain the number 1 source for entertainment information, we accept many types of title too.
This article will go into more detail on commercials, music videos, and podcasts.
Key information
- As with all other types of title, these can be submitted via our new title form New Title Form by following the guidelines laid out in our adding a new title article.
- In order to be accepted, the title should be of general public interest
- Additionally, the title should be publicly available or be planned for public release in the future

Commercial 
How it'll look:
- Brand: Title of advert if known (year) (V) i.e. Chanel N°5: The One That I Want (2014) (V)

- If possible, add a connection to let us know if follows an ongoing commercial series
Music videos 
Updated 18-November-2021 - Continuing with our expansion of content types on IMDb -- we have fully launched a new title types for Music Video. There is a new option available within our New Title Form
The Music Video title type should be used to represent an official video for a single song or musical number as released by the artist. For example, Justin Bieber: Ghost (2021). It can also be used for filmed live or studio performances for single songs; for example: The Beatles: Let It Be (1970).
It can be used for both horizontal and vertical format music videos, but should not be used for unofficial internet videos like fan made content or live-streamed performances.
All other types of music video should be submitted as Made for Video, with the Music genre added.
Examples where Made for Video is appropriate include:
- Musical compilations or montages (where more than a single song or musical number are performed in a single video)
- Live concerts (including opera performances)
- Official trailers for albums or singles
- Performances of classical or instrumental music set to video footage
How it'll look:
- Artist/Band: Title (year) (Music Video) i.e. Justin Bieber: Ghost (2021) (Music Video)

How to submit:

- Please submit as Music Video from the list
- Please add the genres: Music
- Please add the keyword: music-video
Additional information:
- A link should be submitted in the Video Clips section under Links to Other Sites with the description WebsiteName - Full video.
- An artist is playing a character in a music video as they're performing - this means they shouldn't be listed as "Self" which is reserved for talk show appearances, documentaries etc.
To reflect this, the artist should be added with the character name as their own name:

- In cases where the artist doesn't appear in the video then the artist should be listed as above but with the attribute voice.
- If the entirety of the video is compiled of footage from a film then the cast should be listed as archive footage.
The songwriter is eligible for a composer credit and the lyricist should be credited in the music department as lyricist.
Podcasts 
Updated 21-October-2021 - We're thrilled to announce that as of today, we have fully launched a new title types for Podcast series and Podcast episodes. There is a new option available within our New Title Form
How it'll look:
- "Title name" (year) (Podcast Series) i.e. "Team Deakins" (2020) (Podcast Series)
