How can I delete or update my biography?
Can I delete my biography?
We don't remove biographies entirely. If you spot errors or issues in an existing biography, submit corrections and we'll investigate. If there's a problem, let us know and we'll make any necessary updates.
IMDbPro members with a claimed Name page
If you're an IMDbPro member with a claimed page, you can replace any existing biography with your own. Your biography must meet the character requirements but once updated by you, it cannot be changed by other contributors. You can remove information to present your biography the way you want. You can't delete your biography entirely, so you'll need to provide an updated version that meets the minimum length instead.

How can I update my biography?
We welcome updates and corrections to keep biographies current. If a page doesn't have a written biography, we auto-generate one using information and credits already on the page. Find out more about auto-generated biographies here. These won't show up as items to correct. Instead, submit a new biography, and if approved it'll replace the auto-generated one.
How to update an existing biography that isn't auto-generated:
- Go to that person's page.
- Click "Edit page" towards the bottom of the page.
- Next to "Biography", click the drop-down and select "Correct/Delete"
- Scroll to the bottom and select "Continue"
- Next to the biography, click the drop-down and select "Correct", then "Check these updates" at the bottom of the form.
- Enter the new biography, keeping it in line with our guidelines.
- Add an author in the "By:" field.
- Click "Check these updates" and fix any errors that show.
- Click "Submit".
Tracking your contribution
You can now track the status of your Biographical data submission and if it has not been approved, we'll tell you the reason why.
If you are using the mobile apps, mobile website or desktop website you can access this feature via the "Track your contribution" button, which has been added to the submission email receipt. Additionally, if you are using the desktop website, you can also use the "Track Contribution" button now found in your Contribution History page.
