  • Creating a New Project

You can create a New Project by going to the "You" menu and selecting "Your projects".

On the Your Projects page, click on "Create a New Project" in the upper right corner. A project entry form will appear where you can input your project details. Please note, all information marked by the red asterisk is required. Once you have entered all the required information, click "Save" to create your New Project. Please note, talent cannot apply to this Project until you create jobs and post the notice.

What information should I include in my Project?

For all new Projects, you will be required to enter:

      • Project Title (if your project does not yet have a title, feel free to enter a working title; e.g. "Untitled Feature Film Project")
      • Format
      • Union (eligibility/status)
      • Start Date

      Optionally, you can also enter:

      • Description of the project (the description of the project may include your plot and any director's notes)
      • Filming Location (country or "Remote" if not On-site)

Can I create a Project to seek Representation?

No, you should only create Projects if you are staffing a new production.

      Can my Project be removed?

Yes, per our IMDbPro Subscriber Agreement, IMDb reserves the right in its sole discretion to remove or modify any information transmitted through Project notices, Jobs, or Submissions. Some common violations are:

      • Duplicate Projects - Our website prohibits posting duplicate notices as all notices must represent a bona fide employment opportunity. Posting the same notice more than once violates this agreement. (If you need help adding additional jobs to an existing Project, please see "How do I edit an existing Project/Job?")
      • Your post may include derogatory/discriminatory language - All notices must adhere to local, national, and international laws. This includes equal employment opportunity and employment eligibility laws. Using any discriminatory language based on age, color, race, religion, sex, or national origin is prohibited.
      • Your post may have misleading information - All notices must represent a bona fide employment opportunity. After further evaluation, our staff members believe your notice may possess misleading information as to the validity of the employment opportunity.
      • Your post may have sexually explicit and/or deemed harmful - You are also prohibited from submitting to, posting on, or transmitting through IMDb.com any unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, sexually explicit, profane, hateful, racially, ethnically, or otherwise objectionable material of any kind, including but not limited to any material that encourages conduct that would constitute a criminal offense, give rise to civil liability, or otherwise violate any applicable local, state, national, or international law.

Adding a job to your Project

To add a job, you must have created and saved a Project.  Under the Project description, select "Add a job".

A job entry form will appear where you will be required to input:

      • Job Name
      • Character Type (if this is an acting role)

      Optionally, you can also enter:

      • Description (of the role)
      • Gender
      • Playing Age

You also have the option to select additional job criteria under the Physical Attributes (Height, Weight, Physique, Ethnic Appearance, Eye Color, etc.) and Skills (Performance Skills, Athletic Skills, Accents, Spoken Languages, Musical Instruments, etc.) sections.  It is not mandatory to select these items to create a job.

Once you have entered all the job information, you can either select "Save" to return to the Project or select "Save & Add another job" to add additional jobs to the Project.  Once you have clicked "Save", your job creation is now complete.  Please note, talent cannot apply to your Project or a specific job until you post a notice.

      Posting a Notice

After creating a Project and adding jobs, select "Post a Notice".

You have the option to create an "Open Call" or "Accepting Submissions" posting.

Once the Notice Type is selected, you can input:

      • Submission Deadline
      • Paid
      • Pay Description
      • Audition Location (or "Remote" if not On-site)
      • Special Instructions
      • Jobs for the Notice
Please note, all information marked by the red asterisk are required.

Once you have entered all the required information, you can preview the Notice before posting by selecting "Preview".

When you are ready to submit, select "Post a Notice". Your Notice will now be public and viewable by all IMDbPro members. The notice is live within minutes of submissions and will expire once the submission or final audition date has passed.

Please ensure your notice is within our Subscriber Agreement guidelines.

How do I edit an existing Project/Job?

PROJECT: You can edit a Project by going to the "Your Tools" menu and selecting "Your Projects". Navigate to the desired project where you will find a drop-down list on the right-hand side. Selecting "Edit Project" will take you to the project details. Make necessary updates and select "Save".

JOB: You can edit a Job by going to the "Your Tools" menu and selecting "Your Projects". Navigate to the desired project and select the job you would like to update.  Selecting the job will take you to the prospect list page. Click on the Manage Job dropdown to select  "Edit Job" which will take you to the job details. Make necessary updates and select "Save".

How do I receive and manage Project submissions?

When you receive a new submission to an active notice, a red "badge" will appear on the Jobs icon to the right of the Search bar.

You can hover your mouse over the icon to see more details: the number of submissions and the job/project to which they have submitted.

Clicking on the notification will take you directly to the Submissions tab for your Project.

You can also click on the "Projects" icon to be taken directly to Your Projects

Here, you can click on a specific job or the linked number under "Submissions" for more detail and the list of submitters. All submissions will go directly into the "Submissions" tab in your Project. From here you can review submitters' IMDbPro pages and also redefine the parameters to view only the actors you’d consider for your role.

Selecting "Add to Prospect list" will move this submission to your Prospect List.

How do I build a Prospect List?

You can build a Prospective List by selecting "Find Matches" within a Project and Job.

Based on the criteria, IMDbPro will pull matches for that Job. Results will be sorted by STARmeter ranking. By selecting additional search parameters, such as Profession, Age Range, STARmeter, Birthplace, Media, etc., you can further refine your search. To add talent from your ‘Find Matches’ results to your Prospect List, select "Add to prospect list".

Once you have built your Prospect List, you can sort and add comments to individual talent.
