Can't sign in to IMDb?
Below are a few common fixes, plus important cases to review.
Quick fixes:
- Go to the Sign-in page, and try again.
- If you've forgotten your password, use Password assistance to reset it.
- Your password must be at least 8 characters and include numbers and letters. The characters <>,‘ are not supported.

If the above quick fixes did not help, the issue usually falls into one of the below cases. Choose the one that matches what you're seeing, and attempt to resolve the problem with the specific instructions.
Case 1 - You now use your Amazon account to sign in.
Issue: Your IMDb email and password credentials have stopped working.
Why: Your IMDb account is now accessed with your Amazon credentials (email address/mobile number and password). Your ratings, Watchlist, reviews, contributions, lists, and all other IMDb data are still there.
What to do:
- Select Sign in with Amazon on the Sign-in page.
- Use your Amazon email/mobile number and password (the ones you use on Amazon.com).
- Complete any Two-Step Verification prompts if necessary.
Tips
- If you have multiple Amazon accounts, try the one that matches your previous IMDb email.
- If you have trouble accessing your Amazon account, visit Amazon's account issues page.
Other common issues
- "We cannot find an account with that email address": If you don't recall creating an IMDb account before, you can create a new account with Amazon. You can also first try signing in with a different email address you might have used on IMDb.
- "You already have an IMDb account": The email address you're trying to create an account with already belongs to an IMDb account. Please sign in with that email address instead of creating an account with it.
