Contribution of gender identity

You can contribute a gender identity or correction to someone else’s name page if the page has not been claimed. Available options are as follows:

  • Male
  • Female
  • Non-binary
  • Other

IMDbPro members have the option to self-verify this information as well as designate whether they are a transgender person. Identifying as a transgender person is only available to the page owner and is not available to contributors to their page.

Contributing gender to someone else’s page will require the inclusion of supporting evidence. Acceptable evidence can include:

  • Gender: legitimate news articles, interviews, social media profiles, social media posts, or official documentation

There are instances where personal details, like gender, may not appear on a name page or be open to public contribution. For example, contribution of gender identity will not be available when the page has been claimed and the owner either self-verifies their gender or choses not to display their gender.

When contribution is not available based on the page owner’s selections, you’ll see a message in the workflow and won’t be able to submit that data to the page.
