We are rebuilding IMDbPro Connections from an automatic, title-based system to a two-way approval system. You can send connection requests to professionals you've worked with, met at industry events or discovered on IMDbPro, whether or not you share credits. Both people must agree to connect before a connection is established, and you control your network and privacy settings throughout.
Connections is available to all active IMDbPro members who have claimed their IMDb Name page. The feature is available to members 18 years and older.
All members can receive connection requests. IMDbPro Basic members can send connection requests to professionals they share credits with. IMDbPro Premium members can send connection requests to any eligible IMDbPro member, whether or not they share credits.
The Connect button appears on an IMDbPro Name page when the page owner is eligible, and is able to receive connection requests. If a Name page has not been claimed, or the owner's privacy settings limit who can reach them, the Connect button will not appear on their page.
Your Own IMDbPro Name Page: The top of your page on IMDbPro will show your connection activity, including any pending requests you've received. The Connections tab is where you view and manage your network. This tab includes sections for:
Customers must have a claimed IMDb Name page to use the Connections feature. This is to ensure and maintain verification.

Other People's IMDbPro Name Pages: If you're not connected with a professional and are viewing their IMDbPro Name page, a Connect button appears underneath a person's name. When you send a request, you can select from a list of reasons as to how you know the person, which will appear in the notification they receive with your request. Your mutual connections and shared credits are also shown near the top of the page.
If the IMDbPro Name page owner cannot be connected with, e.g. due to an unclaimed page, their privacy settings, "block" settings and the Connect button will not appear.

When connection requests are sent/accepted, you'll receive a notification in your inbox.
You can control who can send you connection requests through the privacy settings in the Connections tab. By default, we will disable the entire Connections feature for any user under the age of 18, verified through both your IMDb or Amazon account age, and any age listed on your claimed IMDbPro Name page. IMDbPro members with a STARmeter between 1 - 50K (this range has been selected based on subjective judgement), or who have ever reached that range historically, will have certain privacy settings turned on by default to respect the privacy and reflect the needs of well-known individuals. In this case, connection requests can only come from other members with mutual connections, shared credits, the same company, or a client or representative relationship.
You can adjust these settings at any time.
You can block another IMDbPro member by visiting their IMDbPro Name page and using the drop-down menu on the Connect button. Blocking removes any existing connection between you, prevents the blocked member from sending you new connection requests, and removes both of you from each other's Frequently Credited With lists and connection recommendations. Blocked members cannot write endorsements for you. IMDb Name page information remains publicly visible regardless of block status, and the Track feature is not affected by blocking.
Endorsements let connected IMDbPro members publicly vouch for each other's professional work. Once you approve an endorsement written for you, it appears in your About tab on your IMDbPro Name page, visible to other IMDbPro members. You can write one endorsement per person, and only for IMDbPro members you're connected with.
A badge near the top of the members IMDbPro Name page shows the total number of endorsements a member has received. Credits that have been tagged in endorsements also display a badge showing how many endorsements reference that credit.

An endorsement can include any combination of the following:
Go to the IMDbPro Name page of the person you want to endorse and selct Endorse. A panel will open up, from here you can add a note, tag credits, and tag professions for the person you're endorsing. When you submit, the Name page owner receives a notification to review your endorsement before it appears on their page.
You can edit an endorsement you've already written at any time. The Name page owner will need to approve the updated version before your edited endorsement is published on their page. Your original endorsement remains visible while your edit is under review.
To remove an endorsement you have written, visit that person's About tab on their IMDbPro Name page, and select Remove.

Pending endorsements for your IMDbPro Name page appear in your Connections tab. You can approve or decline each one. Approved endorsements are published to your About tab, and are visible to other IMDbPro members.
You can remove any published endorsement from your About tab at any time.
To ask a connection to endorse you, visit their IMDbPro Name page and select Request endorsement. They will receive a notification with the option to write an endorsement for you. You can have one active request per person at a time.
People You've Endorsed is a dedicated page that shows all endorsements you've written for others, whether they're pending approval or published. To get there, go to the Connections tab on your own IMDbPro Name page and select the link Manage endorsements for your connections, which takes you to the People You've Endorsed page. From there, you can track the status of each endorsement and edit or remove any of them from one location.
