Which devices and operating systems can download the IMDbPro app?

Current members using iOS 12.0+ or later can download the IMDbPro app from the App Store

Android devices running Android OS 5 or later can download the IMDbPro app from the Google Play Store.

The IMDbPro app is optimized for use on both smartphones and iPad/Android tablet devices.

What is included in the IMDbPro app at this time?

The IMDbPro app currently includes the ability to:

  • Check filmographies & credits by accessing profile pages – including access to STARmeter and MOVIEmeter information
  • Find industry contacts & talent representation
  • Claim your name page and submit new cast credits 
  • Track people and titles and get notified when they're in the news
  • Find your next role using our Casting Notices tool
  • Update your profile information and manage your Known For titles
  • Add photos straight from your device to your page
  • Watch trailers, demo reels and IMDb Originals


Can I create/manage/cancel my account from the app?

Using the IMDbPro app for Android, you can use the "Join with Amazon" button to begin the sign up process. You cannot sign up via the iOS app or manage your IMDbPro account from either app at this time. To manage your account please login to IMDbPro from your desktop computer and select “Account Settings”.


How can I find a page using the IMDbPro app?

To find an individual, title, or company page using the IMDbPro app, you can use the search field located on the homepage or open a new search page by selecting the search icon in the app footer.

As you fill in the search bar, the top results for people, titles and companies will appear below. You can then click 'See all results for' to show the top 100 results for your search term. From this page, you can also filter by People, Titles and Companies, then ‘Refine’ to narrow your results.


How do I filter Filmmaker and Filmography lists?

Use the "Refine" button on name and title pages to help you sort through longer lists of credits. Navigate to the Filmmaker or Filmography tab, then tap Refine in the upper-right corner. On the page that opens select the desired professions, then tap "Apply" to see the new list of filtered results.

Can I search by Top STAR/MOVIE/COMPANYMeter?

Results are ordered by relevance as opposed to our popularity rankings, but you can see the top 100 results for each category by clicking "Search" with an empty search bar. You can also filter a specific search by People, Titles, or Company and use "Refine" to narrow down to a specific popularity range. Read more on meters and their calculation.


How can I see the Image gallery on the IMDbPro app?

There are two ways to reach the image gallery while using the app. To view the full image gallery, please navigate to the title or filmography page and select "Images" in the navigation bar. This will bring you to the overview of the image gallery and you can click the Image thumbnails to view the full image. You can also navigate to your image gallery slideshow by selecting your image in the upper right corner of the page and using the arrows to navigate left and right.


Can I upload/delete images and edit my additional information from the IMDbPro app?

You can upload new images to your page and select these as the primary image if desired. To delete an image, select it from your gallery and tap "Delete" at the bottom of the page. You can also add images to titles using the 'Add Image' icon found in the Images tab. Additionally, using the "Edit" link found on your page you can submit updates to your additional information. 


How do I set my Primary and Featured Images using the IMDbPro app?

In order to manage your Primary and Featured Images, you can either tap on your Primary Image and then "Select new primary image" or navigate to the "Images" tab and tap on the "Edit" pen next to "Featured". To replace an image, tap on the slot and then the image you would like to place in this location. To adjust the order of your Featured Images, you can drag and drop your images in the "Featured" section. Once finished making changes, tap "Apply" to save your changes.


Where do I find Job Notices? How do I apply to a role?

To find the Jobs section, tap on Jobs in the bottom right of the nav bar. Tap on any project title or role for more information, including submission deadline, audition location, start date and filming location. You can also tap "Refine" to filter Jobs based on production type and your personal details. Once you find the perfect role, tap "Apply Now" to begin the submission process. Please note: you must first claim your page using the desktop version of IMDbPro before applying to roles in Jobs.


How do I edit my Known For titles with the IMDbPro app?

From your page, select the "Edit" pen next to Known for to open the Edit Known For page. Here, you can choose to let IMDb decide the titles or click "Use your choices" to edit the titles that are displayed. You should first tap on an open slot, then tap the title that you would like displayed in that location. If you want to remove a title from your Known For, tap the title and then tap the "X" that appears below. You can also drag titles in the Known For section to adjust their order. What is my Network and how can I use it?

You can use the "Network" tab on an individual's IMDbPro page to discover new industry connections based on the titles you have worked on and the people you have in common with your colleagues. When you visit the name page of a person with whom you have shared credits, you can scroll down to the "Network" section, which will display the number of titles and people in common you share with this person. Tapping on the links here will bring you to the "Network" tab with more details, which you can also find at the end of the navigation bar on an individual's page. Where can I find Box Office data?

Box Office provides data from Box Office Mojo, the industry's most trusted box-office reporting service - just tap on the "Box Office" tab in the navigation bar for any released title. Near the top you will find the project's budget, along with gross profit for the opening weekend, US & Canada, and Worldwide. Below, you can filter box office data by region and daily vs weekend.


Can I claim a name page using the app?

If you sign up via the IMDbPro app for Android, you will be automatically prompted to claim your page. Otherwise, you should tap the profile icon in the upper-right corner, then tap "Claim your page". If your professional name differs from the name you used to register for IMDb, tap the pencil to the right and input the name associated with your page, then tap Search. If you don't have a page yet, scroll to the bottom of the search results and tap "Create new page" - new pages are processed within 24 hours.


Can I add/edit IMDb data from the IMDbPro app?

You can submit new cast credits to your claimed name page. Other features are not available via the IMDbPro app. Please log into IMDbPro from your desktop computer and select “Edit Page” to add/edit data to IMDb like verified credits and contact information. Read more on data contribution.


How can I find contact information and reach out?

You can find contact information on the page of the person you are trying to reach. In the menu bar, click “Contacts”. This will open the direct contact and company information we have for that individual.

To place a call, simply click on a phone number to open your phone's calling prompt.

To reach out via email, click on the email address to open your Mail app.


How can I locate news articles using the IMDbPro app?

Trending news will show on the homepage of the app, similar to the homepage on IMDbPro.com.
If you want to expand the news to read the full article, simply click on the hyperlinked title to view the article on the news source’s website.


Why is the IMDbPro app asking to send me notifications?

From time to time IMDbPro may send you notifications to inform you of new features, updates regarding your account, or notices about developments of note in the entertainment industry that may be relevant to you. You can change your notification settings at any time.


How can I get help from the IMDbPro app?

If you need assistance, please log into IMDbPro from your desktop computer and select “Contact Us” at the bottom of the page. Our Customer Service team will typically respond within 24 hours.


How do I log out of the IMDbPro app?

To log out of the IMDbPro app, please select the photo icon in the upper right corner and click "Log out". You will be taken back to the Log in screen.


Where can I find Harassment and Inequality Resources in the app?

Begin by navigating to the "More" tab, then choose "Harassment and Inequality Resources". This will open a new page with websites and contact information from the most reliable resources to help fight against harassment and inequality in the entertainment industry.


How do I give feedback about the app?

To give feedback, navigate to the “More” tab and choose “Feedback” to activate the feedback screen where you can enter in your feedback, suggestions, or report a bug.


Why is the app crashing?

Please return to the App Store/Google Play Store and download the latest version of the IMDbPro app. If you are using the latest version of the app, you should force-close ("kill") the app and reopen.


I received a 403 error signing in, what should I do?

Please force-close your IMDbPro app and reopen; this should allow you to sign in without issue.

If you are still receiving an error message while logging in, please visit the Contact Us page and select IMDbPro member > Sign up to IMDbPro  > Log in/Sign up via IMDbPro App then select "Email" and let us know how we can help.
