Trouble Signing in to IMDb (Browser is Redirecting on Device)

If you're having trouble signing in to IMDb - especially on Samsung devices - you may notice your browser switching during sign-in (for example, from Chrome to Samsung Internet). This can cause your sign-in to restart or appear unsuccessful.

Why this happens

Some devices automatically use their default browser to complete secure sign-in. This can cause your sign-in attempt to restart if you begin the process in a different browser.

How to fix it

To sign in successfully:

  • Complete sign-in in the browser that opened automatically (It's your device's default browser).
  • Or change your default browser to the one you prefer (such as Chrome or Firefox) and then try again.
  • Or use the IMDb app (iOS or Android), which will keep your sign-in consistent.
